Task:

Find a subject, photograph them in a suitable environment using a digital SLR. Experiment with composition, depth of field, camera angle and backgrounds.

Week Three – Unlikely Alliances

Task:

Take a series of images that you can use to create unlikely alliances. Create some diptychs from a selection of your images. Select two of your favourites.

Week Four – Deconstructing Portraiture

Task:

Create a series of portraits of a subject(s) using your film SLR. The series should include both studio and environmental portraits and can be of an individual, a range of people, or self-portraits.

Week Five – Storytelling

Task:

Using the portrait images you shot last week, create a 8×10” darkroom print of at least one of the images. Include a half inch border around the image.

Week Six – Archive

Task:

Use the portrait images you have created to create a digital story of a subject. Record a 1-2 minute audio recording of your subject.

Edit this along with your image to create a digital story with still images & audio combined.
